Top New Years Eve 2015 Parties and Events in Washington DC

With so many choices on where to spend New Years Eve, it is easy to get lost and confused.  Here in Washington DC, there is definitely no shortage of events.  However,  there are a few events worthy of looking into due to either their unique spin on New Years Eve, affordable prices and/or location.  This guide will help you ring in 2015 in style.

Paris in jail

Well, it seems that the princess is in jail....We think that the sentence was definately harsh but the justice system isn't perfect, and this time being on the rich side didn't help. Anyways, as many people tend to do - Paris has found GOD in jail. Well, being taken away from everything you know tends to give you a new perspective on life and what really matters. The test comes after you are put back into your normal environment. Usually, you tend to go back to your old ways, life has a weird way of taking experiences you think you learned from and making them dissappear from everyday thoughts. However, there is always that chance that something will stick and you will remember the lessons. Either way, it seems like LA is in need of a new party princess and there is no short list of who that could be. Hmmm Kim Kardashian seems like a front runner (hey, she already got a sex tape out...now only if she had a famous last name)

Been a minute!

Well, its been a minute but we will be updating this blog alot more often, with new 360 posters! First, we got some news about 360NIGHTLIFE. We will be upgrading the website with plenty of new features, as we mentioned before as we get more members newer features and benefits will be implemented, so stay tuned! Also, the summer of 360 is about to be upon us and a new Friday night party is on it's way. On Thursdays we will be hosting a summer event at Fuzion Lounge in Bethesda. Some good friends of ours just bought this new spot and has totally revamped it. It is perfect for a relaxing week night out! Pictures and more information will be up soon, the grand opening is May 3rd and we are definately excited.

So it seems like Sanjaya got voted off, hate him or love him - he definately got people talking. He was in Washington DC at the White House Correspondents Dinner and was the main attraction. A few of our friends were at the event and said the line to get a picture with him was huge!

Some news on the nightclub front, there are more and more clubs / lounges popping up in DC. The newest is Lotus Lounge located on K Street, and we will let you know what we think when we visit. In addition, there is a new spot called Ibiza that will be opening up in the summer right near FUR. Ibiza will be a good sized club, a contrast to the new trend of lounges. Also, we been hearing about a couple other spots working on coming up but neither has broke ground yet, so we will wait on that.

This trend of lounges in DC won't be going anywhere soon because of the scarce space in Northwest for major multi-level clubs. In NY, Chicago, Miami, LA and Vegas this is definately not true, as they have the space and business for themed and multi-level clubs. We like the lounge feel, its more intimate and cozy but we also miss the feel of a trendy nightclub with space!

Sanjaya crashes SNL - Makes People Cry!

Okay, well I think alot of people are going overboard with this Sanjaya thing. I think it's pretty cool to have someone of a different race / culture representing and getting to the top 10 on American Idol. I think it says alot about how diverse America is. However, you can't help but laugh at this. I see the point alot of people are making, that the only reason he's still around is because of people like Howard Stern and Vote for the worst website. Thus, keeping him in there is just taking a shot away from a more talented singer. Well to that I say, IT IS AMERICAN IDOL - it's not the Grammy's. I'm sorry but Taylor Hicks is not Whitney Houston. This show is about making money and I think the IDOL Fanatics are going way to far. I think one girl is starving herself until he is voted off - well - I remember see'ing the video that she put up and all I can say is that a little diet wouldn't hurt you.

It's a sad day - DEATH OF 1.5 MILLION DOLLAR ENZO :(

Look closely at that guy behind the barrier - it doesn't even seem like he flinches. I dont like to do conspiracy theories over every little thing, but could it be something created to promote a movie? Either way, GIMME THAT ENZO!

State of hip hop .....

Well, we know it's been said and then said again....HIP HOP is DYING or DEAD. Everyone that is not into the current state of hip hop will definately moan and groan about how hip hop died in the mid 90's etc. Others will start bringing up obscure underground artists and say listen to them, they are real HIP HOP! Well, we say hip hop is not dead but definately struggling.

Hip hop has become a very important element in clubs and not only for urban nights but for mixed international nights as well. If you don't overanalyze song content to an excessive degree, hip hop is probably one of the best types of music to dance to. We are far from saying that we think house, rock, 80s, or international music isn't danceable but hip hop is top 40 and what do people want when they are twisted - TOP 40!

Any DJ will tell you, they are sick of playing the same top 40 hip hop crap and they wish they could play this or that. The thing is, when they break into this or that - you get 20 requests for the same top 40 hip hop song you just played less then a hour ago.

Hip Hop in the late 80's and mid 90's was something special and I believe that it has lost its way, well to a degree. It has become a sort of bravado music where most rappers rap to let you know how hardcore they are, how much drugs they can push, or how many girls they slept with. The thing is, hip hop started as a party type of music with the Sugar Hill Gang and to this day, most of the hip hop that comes out can still rock a party.

Overall, I am not a big fan of hip hop these days but there are definately some albums I buy and listen to. Alot of the type of hip hop I like now can't be played in a club. However, If I step back and see hip hop as a form of club entertainment, then I realize that it's not dead because people still want to dance to it. I think the best club nights are when they mix hip hop, with some house, international, 80's and just mash it all together.

Overall, Hip Hop will definately need a makeover though because everything that becomes saturated eventually dies out - look at the down spiral of true rock.

Georgetown - Final 4 Baby!

That's right, its pure Hoya Saxa madness! Georgetown is back in the final four, and could possibly get a championship, which has eluded them since 1984! A few years back we had Maryland win the National Championship and College Park (Route 1) went crazy! Well, it looks like G-town is taking over M Street as seen in this clip. I heard it was just a celebration and nothing got too damaged. We are routing for the Hoyas to win it all this year! CONGRATS G-TOWN!
